Hi Marlene
We had a fantastic day out, our driver was brilliant, he shared lots of great information about what we we’re seeing along the way. The old cars are a lot of fun, definitely the best way to see Bali.

it was really just great! We spent the last two days traveling with the German-speaking tour guide and he showed and explained so much to us – unbelievable! We were able to see so much of Bali in the two days and take along so much information, really great! Because he spoke German SO GOOD, we were able to have private conversations every now and then, which gave the whole thing even more of a personal touch and coziness!! 🙂 the 5-star rating really comes from the heart and we definitely recommend it 1000%!! 🙂

“What an amazing experience!”

My friend and I did a west Bali tour with them and it was honestly so insightful and fun! Our tour guide, Agus, was extremely knowledgeable and truly helped us to understand the culture/tradition of Balinese people in such an interesting way. He was patient and spoke wonderful English, thank you again Agus! Our driver, Mr Wayan, was also ace — he knew the best photo spots and navigated the roads so easily. The west Bali tour covered some less touristy things and I truly enjoyed the rainforest temple and the rice fields (I think it was nicer than the one in Ubud).
What set this tour apart was probably the mode of transport and a knowledgeable guide! The VW might seem a bit much, but having the top down and a 360 view of all the sights, was truly a delight. Highly recommend everyone to go for a tour with these guys!

One of the funnest things we did in Bali! Super friendly and knowledgeable driver and guide. We saw lava fields, mountain vistas, had a great lunch, stopped in Ubud, and more! It was a tremendous day. I would do it again!

“VW fun”

I booked VW Eastern Tour as a surprise for my husband who is a VW enthusiast. Our family of 4 went (children aged 7 and 10) and we had the time of our life!
Driver collected us from accommodation and we set off on our adventure. Driver was friendly and accommodated our needs. We loved all the stops and the water palace was a highlight (buy the fish food before entering- kids LOVED feeding them). They advise to wear sunscreen and hats for a good reason- there is a lot of driving and if you want the car top down you will need adequate protection! We packed snacks for kids too which came in handy.
We skipped the last stop (salt making) as our 7 year old was exhausted. I would not recommend the full day trip for under 7’s, a half day would be better.
This tour was an absolute highlight of our trip – thank you!

“VW the thing!”

Wonderful half day tour to uluwatu. The driver was punctual, well mannered and showed us around the places enroute. Was kind enough to get our tickets and sarongs to visit the temple.

Loved talking about the vintage and classic cars in Bali with him.

“West Bali VW Safari”

This is a fun way to experience parts of Bali in a more connected way as your not inside an A/C vehicle. Our guide & driver, both called Wyanne where very professional & informative. You are taken to tourist hot spots & also lesser visited ones which was nice! Would recommend this tour. But you are exposed to the delights of Denpasar traffic initially & at the end. (we were collected from Sanur)

“West Bali VW Safari”

Toured ubud & Kintamani in a vw convertible. Drivers were fantastic. Knowledgeable & professional. One day tour with Buffett lunch overlooking Mount Batur. (Close to the best food I have eaten in Bali) such a great way to tour Bali with the roof down, wind in your hair & sightseeing the wonderful sights Bali has to offer. We designed our own tour as we wanted to omit a few sights as we had seen them before. Company easy to deal with, emailed & transferred deposit. Easy confirmation. Three generations (grand parents/parents/kids) loved it! Educational for all. Will do another!!

“Bali – The Best Way”

I had some time left after a conference. Wanted to absorb as much of this lovely country as I could. Heiko came to the party. 4 days in an open VW my own driver and my own guide.I saw, I climbed, I smelled and my guide ensured that I began to understand Bali. 5 STAR Accommodation of all types Eco-Mountain/ Luxury Beach(with Tropical Mariachi band)/ Dive central. All meals/All entrance fees included. Not cheap, but I don’t begrudge one penny for the experience. Well done Heiko, I wish you all the best in your business. Next time (soon) I’ll do the west of the island, with your help. Sophy – sent with my message sticks from the mid-north of South Australia

“Perfect Day!, Perfect Tour, Perfect Scenery”

This was an awesome trip to experience Bali and what better way than a convertible 1974 VW.

We did the new Eastern Tour, were picked up by our driver (our tour guide was ill, which didn’t matter as our driver was more than knowledgeable and we were given a discount plus the owner phoned me to apologise while we were on the trip).

We first visited the Bat cave, which is a bit overrated but worth a look if going past, and then we drove through the most amazing scenery high up in the mountain range, through villages, past beautiful countryside, seen people going about their daily lives everywhere and all from the back of this awesome convertible.

We visited the water palace which was just lovely and then drove on to Amed, you could go snorkeling here and by the amount of people obviously a good spot to snorkel straight off the beach. We aren’t that fond of water so sat watched, had a few Bintangs and a lovely lunch before heading back through more villages, viewing the volcano in the distance and stopping at a couple of beautiful spots to soak in some rays and watch salt being made.

A great day and so worth it!!

“A VW tour of Bali is the only way to truly appreciate this beautiful island.”

This is the second time we have toured with Bali Safari Tours in a VW Kubel Wagon Jeep. This vehicle was originally made in Germany in 1939 for the German Army, as such, very robust which was necessary given the terrain we covered. There really is no other way to see Bali. The first time was 10 years ago and we did the West Coast Tour. This time we did the Central Tour. I had specifically requested we source our own lunch in Ubud and have two hours there. This was accommodated. We travelled through many small villages stopped to admire exquisite Pakudui Rice Terraces. Travelled through Kintamani but the outstanding highlight was Mount Batur and driving down to the Lava field and through the Lava fields that originated froman of the volcano Mount Batur. Sebatu Water Temple was another highlight of this trip and following our two hour break in Ubud we stopped at the Batuan Temple. I was very surprised to hear from the tour guide that the VW tours are very popular with European visitors, not so much with Australian visitors. Originally from the Uk myself but an Australian Citizen for more than 10 years I implore Australians to consider this tour for their next visit to Bali, it is outstanding. The guide and driver were very knowledgable and friendly. My booking was conducted via a direct email as I had some very specific requests and the tour was conducted the following day.

“Bali Safari-Eastern Landscape”

We did the Eastern Landscape safari with Bali Safari a cute red jeep. This was a great way to see many sights and we had a great guide named Timor. We went to visit the Bat Temple where yes there are many many bats. Its also a scenic drive all the way up to Ahmed seeing rice fields and village life. They will stop and allow you take photos along the way. We visited the water palace was very lovely plenty of phto opportunities here. We also visited a natural salt maker who show us how he and his family make salt. They were the most gorgeous family and were very happy when my husband tipped them. Then it was time to stop at Ahmed for snorkelling it was a shame that the weather was a bit grey therefore the water was rough you are supplied with all the snorkelling gear there were lots of fish but water was a bit murky due to weather. Then you will have lunch in a typical Balinese warung food was lovely. Then it was off to what they call white sand beach or Virgin Beach if you manage to get a gorgeous sunny day this place would be more lovelier than it was. It is a full day tour but a great way to see the East side they have many other tours but it was fun to do in the jeep.
